About Us
It was 1998 when Peregrine Media Group began this journey, producing environmental films and what ever else we could muster to make ends meet. Digital Video was just coming of age, and computer editing was considered cutting edge. So with a single DV camera, a Pentium computer, a 10 GB hard drive and an ideal, we set out to enhance the way people think about the subjects we care about.
Today, nothing has changed fundamentally. Our heart is still worn on every frame. We work for brands and causes we believe in, and every production must reach further than the last. What has changed is the World that surrounds us, the way we do things, the tools we work with, and the clients we work for. Our DV cameras of old are now replaced by color infused 8K cinema cameras. Our fascination for the craft has magnified with the progression of digital cinema. Our creative options have exponentiated after twenty-two years in the business. And most importantly, between our first project and our last, we’ve learned what makes good media great.

From day one, Peregrine Media Group has specialized in script to screen, full service media production. We know that a great production can only come from a great concept. One that hooks an audience and holds them from beginning to end. But a truly effective concept has to be more than creative. It has to be practical and obtainable as well. The RED V-Raptor does it all. 8K full frame image capture, ultra high frame rates up to 600 frames per second, legendary RED RAW color science, check, check, check. Grip and Lighting
Our new 2 ton grip and lighting trailer is built to give us options in just about any shooting scenario. And the crew that comes attached keeps us shooting with minimal adjustments in the color suite. “Fix it in post” is not a welcome phrase on the PMG set. We prefer to get it right from the beginning. If this is your goal as well, we are happy to send this trailer out with one of our top grips or gaffers, on any shoot. Indoor or out, this unit is built for small scale shoots where precision is paramount. We also offer this unit as added firepower to larger scale commercial and feature shoots that come to the area. The 14×7 trailer comes complete with our Toyota Tundra tow vehicle, a loading ramp at the rear, grip, head, and camera carts, state of the art Softpanels bi-color LED lighting, ample Mole tungsten fixtures, stands galore, comprehensive light control, and more. The Feast: Birds of Shell Beach
In August, warmer waters off the California Coast bring giant schools of anchovies, and their predators close to shore. The feeding spectacle that unfolds is occasionally AWESOME. Being the most extreme El Nino year on record, this one was the largest sea bird feeding frenzy we had ever witnessed. A massive pack California Least Terns stole the show.
